A second generation auctioneer.

Monte is a 2nd generation auctioneer and the 3rd generation of the Family in marketing. He grew up in the auction and livestock business helping his family and working for Lowderman and Williams Auction Service; a partnership between Jack and Sherry Lowderman and Tommy and Trudy Williams.

Currently, Monte is involved in the family auction business, Lowderman Auction Company, and serves as an auctioneer for Williams and Williams. In addition, he serves as auctioneer at many purebred cattle sales and events throughout the country involving Hereford, Angus, Charolais and Simmental Breeders.

His great grandfather, Chet Jennings, built, owned and operated Jennings Sale Co., one of the largest weekly livestock markets in Illinois. His grandfather Wayne Lowderman was in the livestock and real estate business and grandfather, Wayne  Moore, raised Hereford cattle and farmed.

Growing up, Mom would pack Monte and his 3 brothers into the car and travel to the livestock market where his dad was auctioneering that day. It was, and still is a family oriented atmosphere. During the 1970’s and 1980’s the family would travel each June to the World Auctioneer Championships sponsored by the Livestock Marketing Association; watching and supporting father Jack as a contestant and eventual many time division champion and top 10 finalist. With 4 boys in the family, there was never a dull moment, and the home was always a playground. The Lowderman boys would play “auction” by using balloons, marbles and golf balls as pigs and cattle. One would serve as the auctioneer, and the others as ringmen.

Monte is also a partner of Lowderman Cattle Company, a family owned Hereford breeding cattle operation; having raised Hereford cattle for over 3 generations and exhibited at the Illinois state fair and all of the major shows including: Denver, Louisville, Kansas City and Jackson, Mississippi. Most recently, the National Champion Hereford female, at the 100th anniversary of the National Western Stock show was raised by Lowderman Cattle Company.

It was defining event in my life – that “ something “ is now my career and hobby.

Attending college & high school basketball games w/ wife Carrie & son Rhett
Collecting livestock and stockyard memorabilia.

Family, and being active in the auction profession are very important to me. I believe in always giving my best effort. I have literally had the best 2 teachers in the business - my father Jack and Tommy Williams. As a child that did not speak until I was four years old, I am blessed to be in a most exciting, fascinating and fulfilling business. One that just happens to require using my voice.
